Welcome to PMM

Rev. Art PatrayThank you for your interest in the ministries of our Latin American partners. I pray you will spend time to visit each page and see how the God is working to help the poorest of the poor in needy Latin America and other areas as God leads us.
PMM works almost exclusively with Latin American nationals whom God has called to be pastors, missionaries or support personnel. PMM also partners with established national Christian organizations including both church and para church ministries that wish to identify themselves as organizations of integrity and accountability in the areas of evangelical doctrine, work ethic and finances. PMM operates according to the standards of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), as do our national partners and workers.
Generally, most national workers associated with PMM have training from any of various evangelical institutions. Some of the schools attended include Baptist, C&MA, Nazarene, Wesleyan, Assembly of God, Azusa Pacific, Rio Grande Bible Institute, and other evangelical training points. Most know the value of continuing education and some are presently seeking graduate degrees.
Although PMM’s national’s evangelistic thrusts include crusades, Christian schools, education for illiterates, prison outreach, camping, etc., church planting (CP) is the focus of all ministries. As is should be, CP is the end result of all efforts. The organized fellowship best provides edifying and nurturing spiritual growth for believers, new and old. Scripture leaves no mystery concerning this. Spiritual gifts must be discovered and nurtured in individuals, leaders must train new leaders, and all must put actions to their gifts in the body of believers.Because of the variety of our different ministries, PMM offers an excellent platform for missions-minded churches to become involved “on the field” with our nationals. Believers “in the pews” of churches everywhere can become involved with mission and work teams to spend a week or two on the mission field at very reasonable costs. Many churches in the states now are partners with various churches in Latin America. They communicate very regularly and share praises and needs with one another. Lifelong friendships are developed and mutual visits become a part of the relationship. God works amazingly in these relationships. Fantastic, isn’t it??
I do pray that our Lord will lead you to something of interest in our ministries. We try to be very accommodating and personal in our relationships with our workers and partners. I hope you will contact me and let me know how I can help you to become a partner too! Rev. Art Patray President PMM Inc.

Special letter from our PMM Financial Manager

March 2013
Greetings, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Joselito Orellana, PhD has been with PALM Ministries for ten years.  As is well known there is a great need to educate, train, and equip people willing go forth as evangelists and pastors, especially in Latin America. Filling that need has been Joselito’s ministry in Ecuador since 2003.
Before joining PALM he was a chaplain at a Christian hospital in Quito, where he resides with his wife and four daughters.  As chaplain he ministered to patients and their families and also trained the hospital staff in evangelism. Currently Joselito is the senior theology teacher of the Ecuadorian Baptist Theological Seminary, an itinerant preacher, and co-pastor at University Baptist Church from Quito.
In churches, the seminary, and organizations in Ecuador, and South America Joselito teaches and lectures on skills and techniques relative to preaching, administration, training, counseling, theological education, and family ministry.
He is a frequent writer for the Spanish Baptist Publishing House, from El Paso TX-USA. He recently co-authored a book, Hispanic World Study Bible.
His wife, Anita ministers to youth and women in their church. The have 4 daughters, one an adopted niece.
Joselito is one of the many people “behind the scenes” in ministry. He teaches and equips many others to go forth and preach the Word.

Update from Reaching & Teaching‏

Dear Ministry Partner,

Thank you so much for your continued support of Reaching & Teaching. We are so thankful for your prayers and as we are faced with every increasing opportunities and needs we are especially mindful of how crucial prayer support is. So far 2013 has been a year of great growth for us and we want to take this opportunity to update you on a few key developments as well as prayer requests.

First, Dr. Sills had the opportunity to visit two communities in Peru where we had been asked to establish training centers. He had the opportunity to visit both locations in January. Dr. Sills blogged about this trip and we encourage you to read the three part series to get a sense of the needs and opportunities there:
Not only did the opportunity arise for us to establish ministry in both locations in Peru, but the Lord providentially worked out the details so that we are able to launch this ministry in July. Several have already committed to the initial trip, but slots are still available if you would like to go and be a part of this new work. Information is available on our website at http://www.reachingandteaching.org/shorttermmissions.html. Please pray that the Lord will call clearly all those who are to be a part of this team and that the work the team does in July will bear lasting fruit.

Second, while we had been aware that ministry locations in Peru were a possibility for Reaching & Teaching, our second ministry development and blessing this year was wholly unexpected, but clearly led by the Lord. Through several providential connections as well as a key ministry contact, the opportunity has arisen to us to begin a work in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Sills along with a key ministry contact will be traveling to the DR in May for an initial teaching trip and to further develop things for upcoming trips. Please pray for this ministry, join us in thanking the Lord for the providential connections He has established, and ask Him to guide our every step as it is further developed.

Third, we will also be launching a new training center in the Panama Canal Zone in Panama this summer. We will be working in partnership with a historic church that has long desired to establish a hub of training for Central America. The team serving on this trip will largely consist of individuals who have participated in our Tambo, Ecuador ministry in the past, so we anticipate a very strong launch and a quickly established base of ministry. Please pray that this training center, which is in a very strategic location, will quickly become a location through which leaders from throughout Central America are able to receive much needed training and discipleship.

Thank you again for your prayer support and interest in all the Lord is doing in and through Reaching & Teaching. We continue to marvel at the ways in which He is growing and stretching us. Dr. Sills is working with the Board of Directors on an expanded multi-tier development plan for the ministry as we have grown beyond our expectations. Please pray for this process as well as for the needed prayer and financial resources so that we are able to be faithful to that which God has called us. If you are interested in serving on one of the trips we have mentioned here or through our training center in Ecuador, you can find information on our website at http://www.reachingandteaching.org/shorttermmissions.html. Do not hesitate to let us know if you have questions about how you can more effectively pray, give, or go with us!

Grace and peace,
Reaching & Teaching
All of God's people going into all the world, faithfully obeying all of the Great Commission.
